Four members of the Young Alternative (JA), the youth chapter of the Alternative for Germany, were attacked by Antifa on their way to see a film about the Warsaw Ghetto.
Two were wounded, one of the victims was Jewish and managed to escape the violent attack.
Masked storm troopers are again attacking Jewish cititzens on the streets of Berlin.
This was perhaps the kind of scenario retiring Berlin festival director Dieter Kosslick had in mind when he made the provocative offer to members of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party to come see the film “Who Will Write Our History” by California filmmaker Roberta Grossman for free, on his personal expense.
However, as it turns out, it was Antifa who are the masked thugs, and the AfD members only wanted to see the film and engage in discussion.
Struck on the head by Antifa for trying to see movie on Warsaw ghetto:
“We were walking toward the theater at about 10 pm down Karl Marx Blvd. About 50 yards away from the theater, they jumped us. There were about a half-dozen of them. They used improvised weapons they can’t be arrested for, but which can do serious damage. They held batteries in their fists to strike with, and one of them had a wine glass which he smashed, and used the broken stem to stab at us like a knife. I was cut in the upper arm and didn’t even notice it till I got home”, JA Berlin member Vadim Derksen told The Gateway Pundit.
Derksen says he has no idea how the masked thugs recognized them, or knew what direction they were coming from. “We weren’t wearing any emblems by which you could recognize us, just normal clothes.”
One member of the JA was struck on the head and had to be tended to by an ambulance. Another JA member, who is Jewish, managed to escape the attackers on foot before he was injured.
Vadim Derksen only discovered he was stabbed when he came home.
“We think it’s a good idea Berlin festival director Dieter Kosslick wants to talk about anti-semitism, but we think he’s preaching to the the wrong crowd. The real anti-semitism in germany today comes form Muslims, the real extremist violence form Antifa. We were interested to see the film and wanted to discuss it. We would also be open to a debate about politics, with the filmmaker, the festival or even the Antifa who attacked us. Unfortunately, while they always say they want to debate us and defeat our arguments, they only seem to have violence to resort to.”
AfD MP Petr Bystron just barely escaped the attack, arriving several minutes afterward. “This kind of attack is symptomatic for Germany under the Merkel government of 2019,” Bystron told the Gateway Pundit. “Members of the most successful German party of the postwar era are defamed, ostracized and attacked, and the mainstream media contribute to this atmosphere of division and hate. Mr. Kosslick was just trying to defame the AfD and fan the flames of hatred by portraying us as somehow antisemitic, even though the AfD defends our Jewish citizens more than anyone. Mr. Kosslick is directly to blame for this attack.”
When contacted for comment, a Berlin film festival spokesman said, “We planned this event with increased security and coordination with the Berlin police in and around the movie theater. The Berlin film festival condemns all forms of violence, and encourages everyone to remain peaceful.”
The Berlin film festival declined to comment on the violence against a Jewish audience member who followed the festival director’s invitation to see the film, or to say whether they would engage in dialogue with the victims of their publicity stunt.
The Gateway Pundit has reached out to filmmaker Roberta Grossman for comment but has not yet received an answer.
